Error Message When Installing Win TV
I keep getting the same error message when I try to install Win TV software. See error message below: Error: The file C:windowssystem32Msvcirt.dll could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to destination directory. Access is denied.
I ran every test I could think of, with no luck.
Memory Module Not Recognizing
I have an Intel D102GGC2 socket 775 motherboard with an ATI RS400 northbridge and ATI SB400 southbridge. I have an Intel Pentium 4 model 531 "Prescott" processor installed.
I recently installed a second 512MB DDR2-667 memory module (512MB x 2 total) but the BIOS only sees one of the 512MB modules. CPU-Z ver 1.49 recognizes that two memory modules are installed but 64-bit Windows Vista SP 1 itself only shows 512MB of total memory just like the BIOS does.

Mac Questions From a Newbie
I recently acquired a MAC Mini. I got it in a trade and decided it was something I wanted to try and learn, especially for the home movies thing.
My first question is that it comes with OS X 10.5.4. Is this the same as Leopard?
2nd question: It has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 1 GB of DDR2 SDRAM. Should I add more RAM? I have heard that MAC's don't require as much RAM.
What is the best way to backup this machine? I didn't get the OS disks in the trade, so I wanted to make sure I have a good back up. Also, if I wanted a bigger hard drive, would any drive work?
LCD Monitor or HDTV?
I don't have an HDTV yet but I have been looking into them. I was thinking that the LCD monitors now are not much different from HDTVs and the LCD monitors seem to be cheaper when comparing sizes with HDTVs.
My initial thinking is that I would get an LCD monitor that had a resolution of 1920 x 1080. I want it to have at least one of Analog RGB, Digital Connectors, D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI.
My thought is that I could connect my computer to it and also my DirecTV and Wii. Does this sound like a good plan? I am sure I'm missing some details but as I said I am looking into it. Newegg had the ASUS VK246H for 270$ and its 24-inches. Even a low-end 22-inch 720P HDTV is 280$ (roughly).
In Search of Chipset Fan
I have a Foxconn Winfast NF4UK8AA-8EKRS motherboard with a dying chipset fan. There are a decent amount of fans/heatsinks out there for a southbridge chipset, but I want to find just a fan.
For all I have found, I can either get a fan/heatsink combo or just a fan to sit on top of a heatsink.
I would like to avoid pulling my entire motherboard out to replace a heatsink since they all have clip pins that look only to be accessed from the underside.
If I could find just a fan that can be set into the existing heatsink. Basically, I have this, where the fan sit into the heatsink held in with screws. I would just get the one pictured but the shipping is way too much and will take too long to get to me.
Does anyone know where I can get just an insert fan, or a combo set I can remove the fan from? Of course the sooner and less expensive is best… I do just really not want to risk damage to an old motherboard for two little pins. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Recovery Windows XP
I got the infamous Blue of Death Screen in my computer, after I try to fix the problem, it appear another death message "Load need DLL for kernel". I tried to boot the computer with the last know conf. that worked, but the last message appears every time that I tried, so I decided to make a RECOVERY to try to save my data, the recovery starts, but in a few seconds the display freeze and the computer does nothing.
I tried ten times, but always the same problem.
I have a laptop (XP, SP2) and a desktop ("ditto") that I had no problem setting WM11 to share with my PS3 and 360- music/pics/video through the home network. It worked beautifully right away, minimal set up, and both consoles recognized the computers as soon as I allowed sharing on them and granted the consoles sharing permission through the computers.
Then, out of nowhere, my motherboard and chipset get fried on the desktop and need to be replaced. I get the computer back, new mobo, new chip and suddenly, despite doing everything the same way again, neither console recognizes the pc.
Anybody have any idea what to do? All the settings are correct on WM11, but it just doesn't show up on the network for the consoles. My troubleshooting skills are limited, but I was hoping it would just "show up" again like it did the first time when I just click the WM11 setting to allow sharing.
